Parents who wish to apply to Hands-On Montessori School must complete an application form and submit the form to the school with the non-refundable application fee. Within 5 business days, the School will either call, email, or mail an acknowledgement letter to the parents confirming the receipt of their application. When openings in enrollment exist, an interview appointment with both parent and child will be scheduled. This interview is informal and is a requirement of the State. Letters of acceptance/non acceptance/enrollment pending wait list will be mailed.
An Open House is scheduled in both the spring and fall of each school year. Prospective parents are also encouraged to call HOMS to schedule an appointment to observe the classrooms. Observations must be made when alternative childcare is available for your child so as not to disturb the classes in session.
HOMS employs a nondiscriminatory policy. The School admits children from families of any race, religion, cultural heritage, national origin, political belief, disability, marital status or sexual preference. Each child has access to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities that are generally afforded or made available to students at the School. HOMS does not discriminate in the administration of educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, or athletic and other school-administered programs.
Expectations of Parents
Parent involvement is the single most important variable to school success. In support of this very important ideal, parents are asked to participate in the life of their child's school by serving a minimum of 12 volunteer (non-paid) hours per school year. We offer many ideas and suggestions for this participation both during and outside of school hours. We are open to other ideas and encourage families to share theirs, including talents and cultures.
