Parents who wish to apply to Hands-On Montessori School must complete an application form and submit the form to the school with the non-refundable application fee. Within 5 business days, the School will either call or email an acknowledgement letter to the parents confirming the receipt of their application. When openings in enrollment exist, an appointment with both parent and child will be scheduled for the informal family meeting and visit. This meeting is informal and is a requirement of the State. Letters of acceptance/non acceptance/ enrollment pending wait list will be emailed.
An Open House is scheduled in both the spring and fall of each school year. Prospective parents are also encouraged to call HOMS to schedule an appointment to observe the classrooms. Observations must be made when alternative childcare is available for your child so as not to disturb the classes in session. These observations are typically scheduled for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday at 9:30 or 1:30.
Expectation of Parents
Parent involvement is the single most important variable to school success. In support of this very important ideal, parents are asked to participate in the life of their child’s school by serving a minimum of 12 volunteer (non-paid) hours per school year. We offer many ideas and suggestions for this participation both during and outside of school hours. We are open to other ideas and encourage families to share theirs, including talents and cultures.
