Emily Miller

Founder, Owner & Head of School

Emily Miller is a dedicated educator and experienced leader in early childhood and Montessori education. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bridgewater State College in 1990 and holds a Massachusetts Teaching Certificate (K-3). Committed to continuous professional development, Emily actively participates in workshops, seminars, and conferences for Montessori and early childhood educators. She also enriches her expertise by observing Montessori classrooms across the United States.

Emily received her Montessori teacher training from the Northeast Montessori Institute in 1995-96 and is Director-2 certified and licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. With a career spanning both public and private sectors, she has taught preschool and kindergarten and has over 35 years of experience in small business management. Since 2023, she has served on the board for Montessori Schools of Massachusetts, further contributing to the Montessori community.

In 2003, Emily achieved a long-time personal and professional dream by founding Hands-On Montessori School, welcoming families from over 26 surrounding communities. As a compassionate and nurturing educator, she is deeply committed to supporting both children and parents in their educational journey.

Beyond her professional life, Emily is a devoted wife, mother, and “Gemmy.” She cherishes time with her blended family of four grown children (three sons and a daughter) and her two delightful granddaughters.
